Victoria Lorrekovich-Miller

Victoria loves stuff that begins with W: Words, Writing, Women activists, Witchy empowerment, Wine shops, vintage Wardrobes, Whiskered faces and Wagging tails, and her World of family and friends. She is an APA style-certified editor and the founder of www.LocalEditors.com, which helps high schoolers craft their college application essays and graduate students polish and publish their theses and dissertations. Her published pieces have appeared in print and online in Reader's Digest, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Piker Press, Pithead Chapel's Literary Online Journal, Kveller, The Bark, Dog and Kennel, Animal Wellness Magazine, Diablo Magazine, Thought Catalog, Cricket Magazine, YourTeenMag.com, Women on Writing (WOW) and more.

Victoria is the guardian of a menagerie of critters—four dogs, 1 cat (who is NOT happy about the four dogs), a leopard tortoise, a red-footed tortoise, an eastern box turtle, and exotic praying mantises. Her late mantis Jade inspired her children’s picture book, When a Mantis Finds a Fly in the Sky, which is available NOW on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and in your local, independent bookstores. She has also added 'substitute teacher' to her resume and has taught everything from little one in TK to high school seniors. It has been an adventure! When not writing, editing, or teaching, Victoria is riding her Vespa with her partner-in-crime, Martin, exploring the backroads of California, searching out estate sales, and befriending dogs everywhere. She is currently working on a novel about a female-centric winery. She is also considering getting an MFA in creative writing and has submitted her applications. Will she be old in two years when she graduates? Yes, but guess what, she's going to be old in two years, regardless of what she does. Victoria lives with an incredibly fun and supportive husband, so her future journey is sure to be a rewarding one! They are parents to four talented children: Ari, Justin, Logan, & Kaitlin, who are all making the world a kinder and more interesting place to live.
