Fear the Squirrels https://www.pikerpress.com/article.php?aID=9260
Why do we love squirrels? Is it their sweet little faces? Their high-energy acrobatics? Or, perhaps, it’s their commitment to lowering global warming (isn’t that why they plant so many acorn trees)? The squirrels in this story, published on Piker Press, don’t feel that they have enough support from the human sector, so they seek out a social media director/brand manager… Things don’t go exactly as planned, or perhaps they do.

“This is a very, very well-done piece. I love how clever it is. I love the creativity and the way in which Victoria connected it to current events—even the election. I hope this author will continue to think outside the box with her fiction and continue to put her wonderful words and ideas into the universe.” –Team WOW

“The Disposables” is incredibly creative and dynamic! The social justice & equality theme mirrors what we’re experiencing today, but Victoria put a clever twist on it. Powerful! Victoria has a great voice, and adding the grandson scene was an inviting way to contrast the wide narrative dystopian voice with a more intimate voice. Bravo! We loved it!
